I spent two days in Sedona, AZ in May 2018. The weather was perfect. Not as hot as Scottsdale but still hot enough for a beautiful day at the pool. Sedona is really great for people who love the outdoors. Hiking is a must here but there is no night life with only a few bars in town.
While in Sedona, we stayed at the secluded and very private Enchantment Resort, which is a 5 star hotel nestled into the red rocks. In fact, when we pulled up to the resort, there was a gate and security guard fact checking our reservation. The privacy and seclusion add to and create an environment of exclusiveness which is nice especially if you’re with a loved one.
I did a hike on the grounds of Enchantment called the Kochina Woman, which is an easy walk to a vortex. I was told that these “vortexes” are energy fields that you can feel in your body. I was hopeful that I would feel something but unfortunately I did not. The views however are well worth the hike and I recommend taking on the outdoors when in Sedona.
The Enchantment has a great spa called Mii Amo. You can actually stay at the spa. It was named top resort by Conde Nast Traveler. I highly recommend the spa if you stay at Enchantment. The spa has an indoor and outdoor pool and a restaurant.
While at the spa, I got the Prickly Pear Butter Wrap which is the treatment to get while in Arizona. The prickly pear is a popular cactus in Arizona and can be eaten, drank, or used in spa treatments. It has anti-aging properties and my skin felt amazing afterwards.
Sedona has a fun shopping district called Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village. I highly recommend shopping here when in town.
For fun activities, the Pink Jeep Tour is a great way to experience and see red rocks of Sedona. They have rides for everyone. The tours range from very rugged off roading experiences to more relaxed easy rides.
For eating out, I highly recommend Mariposa. I absolutely LOVE this restaurant. The food, views, and staff here are amazing!! My friend and I ordered the handmade empanadas, filet mignon, and the prickly pear cheesecake for dessert. Mariposa is farm to table as well. There’s a beautiful lawn outside for picture taking and views of the red rocks.
At Enchantment, we ate at Tii Gavo for lunch and dinner. The outdoor patio is perfect for eating and lounging. Tii Gavo is Enchantment’s more casual dining destination and at night you can sit around the fire pit and make s’mores.
I highly recommend a trip to Sedona! You don’t need to spend a lot of time here to enjoy it either. It’s a perfect weekend getaway!
Until next time, here’s your Passport to Travel!
